Brave New MP3.. or WMV.. or FLAC.. or….

December 9, 2009

Welcome to the official blog of, which is a completely free web application providing file conversion for lots of different types of computer files. You don’t need to install any software to use it, there is no registration and you don’t need to provide an email address.

Our mission is to empower everyone to access any file regardless of whatever device or application it was originally created on or for.

We live in a world with thousands of different gadgets, devices, computer systems and applications. The problem is that they sometimes don’t like talking to each other – your mobile phone doesn’t understand a particular music file that you transferred over from your PC, your shiny new video camera produces video files that are unintelligible to your friend’s Mac or you can’t open that new Word 2007 document attached to an email because you’re still on Word 2003.

In order to make these essential bits of technology a bit more sociable, fileminx converts files quickly and in three simple steps:

  1. Browse for the file that you want to convert.
  2. Choose the file format that you want to convert your file to.
  3. Download the new file from the link provided once fileminx has completed the conversion.

Simple dimple really.

Fileminx went “live” in October 2009, initially offering conversion for video and music files up to 50 MB in size.

The convertible file types are as follows:

AAC, AIF, AIFF, AU, FLAC, iPhone Ringtone, iPod Music, MP2, MP3, OGG, RA, SND, VOC, WAV, WMA

3G2, 3GP, ASF, AVI, DVD, Flash Video, GIF Animation, iPod Video, MOV, MP4, MPEG, MPG, PSP Video, RM, WMV

The fileminx blog will keep you up-to-date with the latest developments, updates and lots of other fun stuff from the wacky world of file conversion! Cheers!
